Our goal
The aim of the TMG Association is to adapt the system of regenerative agriculture in Hungary and to enable its more successful and efficient application.
Our mission
Practical demonstrations and knowledge transfer on soil renewal and soil health.
Visions
Green Hungary in winter and summer! Together we will prevent the desertification of the Carpathian Basin.
Who are we?
The groundwork for our association was prepared by the 2016 Kukutyin Soil Life Conference, organised by Attila Szabó and attended by a handful of farmers ready for change. At that time we did not know that we would become a formal organisation. All we knew was that our soils were degrading, demanding more and more chemicals and that the economics were becoming more challenging.
Attila Kökény, the most prominent advocate of regenerative agriculture in Hungary, was the main backbone and inspiration for the farmers present. It was through his presentations that we were touched by the winds of change and the will to change, and it was he who presented an alternative to mainstream agriculture that filled us with great hope and enthusiasm. We wanted to learn, to experience. Some of us had more or less experience with cover crops, no-till, strip-till or even direct seeding. We continued to work and experiment on our own farms, helping each other throughout the year.
TMG Association
The seeds of the association were planted the following year at the second Soil Life Conference, where new and old welcomed each other as friends. Fellow farmers illustrated their first or even their many steps with pictorial reports, each worm, mushroom and inland water-free area a special treat. In addition to farmers' presentations, invited experts shared theoretical and practical background on soil microbiology, organic pest management, composting and other related disciplines and technologies.
The association sprouted for the third conference, and the following year we already announced the event in the form of an association meeting.
We believe that in this way, as an association, we can really effectively represent the cause of soil renewal. The members of the association are helping each other along this not easy path, which radically changes the way of thinking. We believe and see that this is the way forward. It is building, revitalising, not continuing to destroy and exploit, that will nourish and serve humanity and restore the health of the land. We do not want to keep for ourselves the knowledge and experience we have acquired over the years. Agriculture must change so that we can put food on the plates of our children and grandchildren. Food that feeds and nourishes. We need to sequester carbon in the soil, over as large an area as possible, as soon as possible.
It is the basis of all life, the driving force of all soil and the engine of the natural nutrient cycle. In increasingly variable weather conditions, it is the only way to retain water in the soil, reduce drought damage and prevent problems caused by inland water. It is also the best way to stop soil erosion.
The system of regenerative agriculture goes far beyond common sense. It is the way of the sensitive, curious, adventurous good farmer who is able to see and apply nature's patterns and is willing to take responsibility for the land entrusted to him.
Our association is as diverse as a natural system. Many of our members are represented, from those who operate the smallest garden farms to largescale farmers with 1,000 ha. If you are ready for a change, we welcome you among our members.
Partnership
Our partnership includes owners, domestic and foreign companies and organisations.
The Association places a high priority on collaboration and joint thinking with all market and professional actors who share the same commitment to regenerative principles and ecosystem restoration as our Association.
Through cooperation and joint thinking, an active approach to the conservation and renewal of the soils of the Carpathian Basin will become more effective.
The partnership is open to anyone who is committed to the future of agriculture, to the preservation of our soils and who can identify with the principles of regenerative agriculture.
Our objectives
The aim of the TMG Association is to adapt the system of soil regeneration agriculture in Hungary and to enable its successful and efficient application. To this end, the association launches experiments and research with its own funding. The results are used to produce professional articles and educational material. In addition, our association is also involved in translating foreign literature into Hungarian and translating professional videos to ensure the widest possible learning opportunities for our members. We organise professional days, farmer visits, meetings and conferences for an effective exchange of experiences.
Social engagement is also one of our key objectives. We make the basics of soil regeneration understandable and accessible to all actors in society. By understanding how natural systems work, we will become responsible farmers and responsible consumers and move closer to the key triad of healthy soil - healthy plants, animals - healthy people.

Meet TMG farmers who want to give you an insight into the basics of their farm.
The Farm Profile is a summary interface where farm data is presented in a concise, numerical and transparent way. It provides information on key characteristics such as soil type, type of farming and the date of changes between farming sectors.
The economy's results in the Points System are also included here.
All the important information is easily accessible so that you can quickly see and compare the economy's performance.
Certification
CEREG is an international certification scheme for regeneration, open to all.
