Anne Biklé
Anne Biklé is a science writer and lecturer, drawing on her background in biology and environmental planning to explore humanity's complex relationship with nature in terms of agriculture, soil and food. She is particularly fascinated by flora and its historical impact on humanity. Using mulches and microbes, he has stimulated many plants to grow wild or brought them back from the brink of life. His writings have appeared in digital and print magazines, newspapers, radio programmes and his horticultural practices have been featured in independent and documentary films.
His latest book, What your food ate: How to Heal the Soil and Regain Your Health (W.W. Norton, 2022) explores the links between soil health and the health of plants, animals and people. The book is a recent collaboration with her husband, geologist David Montgomery, and builds on the Dirt Trilogy, a series of books on soil health, microbiomes and agriculture.
