Ágnes Berente

I'm Ágnes Berente, host of the Small Stage of the 8th TMG REAG Soil Life Conference and Exhibition.

My attachment to the land is family. My mother works the land to this day - just as our ancestors did until the last moment - in her own little empire, without which she cannot exist. My father worked his land until he was 80 years old, as he had access to the land that had been returned to him in exchange for part of the property that had been taken away during nationalisation. Meanwhile, my brother, who is vice-president of the Soil Renewal Farmers' Association, fell in love with working the land and now farms 100 hectares.

For years, I have been watching this "new spirit" as they work with their fellow members to care for the land, to save it and to put this knowledge to work for the common good, because the goal - for our survival - must be common to all of us: to protect the land and therefore the Earth.

For this noble cause, I offer my help to those who want to do something.
