Zgornja zra\u010dna (aerobna) plast tal se odlo\u017ei na dno, spodnja anaerobna plast pa se odlo\u017ei na vrh ali se pome\u0161a, s \u010dimer se po\u0161koduje in uni\u010di ustaljeno \u017eivljenje v tleh. Razgibana plast se zrahlja, vendar je to le za\u010dasno ali pogosto prekomerno. Medtem se pod globino obdelovanja oblikuje debela, zbita plast, znana kot ektalna plast.
